ITE HCMC is good for professionals within the tourism industry to promote their respective countries. Despite impediments presented by the economic recession, the number of tourists coupled with the high volume of travels worldwide has proven that the tourism industry will remain untouched and continue to develop. According to a research by UNWTO, International tourism will continue to grow in the period 2010-2030, with the number of international tourist arrivals worldwide to increase 3.3% a year. As a result, an average 43 million additional international tourists will join the tourism marketplace every year.
And Vietnam is one such market to exemplify growth in the industry; being one of the most popular tourist destinations, the country’s tourism industry has seen unprecedented growth, accounting for 9.3% of the GDP in the Vietnamese economy. According to a report, international tourist arrivals in Vietnam will grow at a rate of 11% during 2010-2014, and tourism receipts from overseas tourists are expected to rise at 13% during the same period, thereby reaching around US$ 5.6 Billion by 2014. The tourism industry will continue to grow rapidly in coming years as the Vietnamese government has been more than ready to invest in infrastructure development to boost the nation’s image as an attractive and safe destination.
This dynamic effort has turned the tourism industry into a key driving force for social and economic progress, which has inadvertently prompted the growth of outbound tourism.
As one the fastest growing economies, the young population of Vietnam has recognised the need to study abroad to obtain higher education and have identified overseas travel as a vital part of doing business in this trade-oriented economy, apart from leisure and recreation. In fact, the travel and tourism market is expected to see stronger growth over the next five years, with rising disposable incomes and improving living standards as major contributing factors. These factors combined with new infrastructure development projects and increasing consumer confidence has poised Vietnam as one of the most optimistic emerging outbound markets to keep an eye on.
Other than Vietnam, countries within the region such as Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos are following suit, fast becoming strong emerging markets, particularly as tourism hubs. With scenic landscapes, rich cultures and endless historical sites, these countries are set to attract the world and in return, are increasingly interested in exploring a myriad of opportunities the world has to offer.
